My Story

My journey in the world of social work and counselling spans many years and I have extensive experience in a variety of social service fields, including child protection, youth support, seniors services including dementia care and caregiver support, and therapeutic services for children, adults and seniors. 

In my personal life, I have a young daughter with Down Syndrome and have extensive lived experience in navigating the healthcare system and government agencies in support of my daughter and my own family, especially in regard to her healthcare needs and development. 

I was born and raised in Brantford but I did spend extensive time living overseas in Okinawa, Japan practicing karate for almost six years while teaching english to young children. That amazing experience provided me with a unique opportunity to navigate a foreign world and discover who I am and what's important to me as I walk through this world.

Throughout all my educational endeavours, my professional working years, and my personal experiences as a traveller and more importantly as a mother, I complied years of experience advocating not only for myself but for those around me. Now I continue to do this for my daughter, my family and my clients.
